01
Decide where and how you want to plant your roses. This will be based on size of roses and how much space you have.
Climbing roses will need a trellis or other structure to grow onto. You can start your climbing roses in the ground or large pots on either side of the structure.
02
Potting soil works best with roses in pots. Roses in the ground can use a mixture of the soil already there, and in-ground soil.
Prepare soil by mixing with rose fertilizer to encourage more healthy blooms throughout the year.
03
Soak roses deeply for each watering. They can get dry before the next watering. Container plants usually need to be watered more than in-ground plants.
Prune roses to encourage more blooms. Prune during the winter so that your roses are ready to grow new flowers in the spring.
