Does your garden seem lifeless, despite all the work you put into it? Get some ideas on bringing life back to your garden in this collaborative post. Here are 10 simple ways to give your garden some life.

When you’re not naturally that gifted at gardening, you may always wonder what you need to do to fall in love with your outside space. Because we all want to be able to have a garden that we just love, but it’s not always easy to figure out how you’ll get there when you don’t want to put the work in. Because gardening can be a lot of work.
It can take a lot of time and physical labor to get your garden to look great. But don’t let this be something that puts you off.
Whether you’re on a budget or you only have a small space to work with, you can get a gorgeous looking garden in the simplest of ways. Yes, you could spend hours working away and still never be happy with it. So why not strip things back?
Not only do you have the option to hire a landscaper to come in and just do it for you, you have so much smaller steps to consider too. Because it doesn’t have to be a huge job.
If you want to be able to strip things back and just make small changes done, you’ll be glad to know that you can make some small tweaks that go a long way. So let’s take a look at ten of the things you can do to really give your garden some life.
1. Work On The Lawn

One of the simplest and most effective ways to ensure that you’re really bringing life into your garden is to fix up the lawn. If you know that it does not really look its best, then lay some grass seeds to thicken it out.
If you know that it’s dry and it’s lost its color and nourishment, a lawn care treatment may be needed. You just need to work on throwing down the right options to see what’s going to bring out the lush green lawn that you’re looking for.
2. Create A Stunning Border
From here, the second simplest thing to do is to create a border. When you want life, you need to add life. But make sure that you’re going for colorful choices.
When it comes to your border, you should look to introduce a pattern of shades or just as many as you can. That big injection of color is going to really make the space sing.
3. Use Low-Maintenance Plants
But at the same time, you want this to be easy. You know that you’re not a great gardener and you don’t want to have to work really hard to maintain such a beautiful garden.
So you need to choose those border plants, and any others that you bring in, very carefully. Think about the most low-maintenance plants that you can choose from and do a small amount of research to work out which will be simple to look after.

4. Bring In Planters
But if you don’t have much space to work with, then you might want to think about bringing in some planters. By having pots dotted around the garden, and even hanging baskets, you will have less work to go. You won’t have to dig in the garden to plant them, and most of the maintenance will be watering and then clipping back – depending on the plant itself.
5. Grow Vegetables
If you don’t mind a little bit of work to begin with and you want the best results, then why not think about growing vegetables? Veggies always look great out in the garden and, of course, you then get to enjoy them with your meals too. So this can be a great way to add a new dimension to the space.
6. Focus On Climbers
If you want to cover your garden in life, and you want to do it relatively quickly, then bring in some climbing plants. By simply tacking a trellis to your boundary and planting the climbers, you’ll find that before long, you have that wall covered by life. If you really are looking for a lot of greenery around the space, then going for climbing plants is a quick win.
7. Introduce A Water Feature

Another great way to add some more interest and bring your garden to life is with water features. And this doesn’t have to be an awful lot of work. If you want something to focus on in the evenings, this will work. Choosing a ready-made option will minimal set-up should also be your priority here.
8. Dress Up The Dining Area
Now, you’re going to want to make sure that you’re focusing on the dining area too. Yes, you want to add life, and you want to do it on a budget, but you also want to be able to enjoy the space too.
If you have planters out, then a small and sweet bistro set may settle in nicely. Just make sure that you’re looking at different options, colors, and styles to see which will suit the theme you’re going for.
9. Accessorize The Space
When you have got your dining set sorted, don’t just think that the patio is finished. If you really want the space to be alive, then you need to be focusing on accessories too. Sometimes, just adding in a table and chairs can seem boring and lifeless.
And this is not what you want when you’ve spent some time bringing in life in the form of plants. So think about the soft furnishings, blankets, or even statues you can add to liven the space up.

10. Set The Atmosphere
Finally, you’re then going to want to think about what you can do to just add some atmosphere to the space too. When you want your garden to have a lot more life, atmosphere will do that.
Some of the best ways to do that is focus on bringing in some candles, lighting, or even music. When you’re focusing on how the space feels and not just looks. Think about how you want to feel in your garden and go from there.
